Have been one crazily hectic week at work, what with my colleague on a long vacation, one US counterpart on a short vacation and another ready to go on her maternity leave! Cutting down on all my food and stretch breaks and yet staying up until 5am on all the days and back at work by 2pm. On top of that, some people think that managers/MBAs dont do any work... And my manager says 'Ha! Good stuff man.. you are finally doing some work ?!' @%#$%#$^&*!!!

Well.. I just went through your previous post regarding CF..
My friend was preparing for CAT '05 from PT.. and also heard about this institute too.. so just wanted to know about it..
Not that I am a prospective student or something.. but just wondering how these institutes are actually helpful.. because half the students who join them.. are not really that serious about CAT (the test which is taken by maximum students)
So thats about it.. it was just a random thought that crossed my crazy mind... (whatever of it is left)

A couple of things abt these CAT coaching institutes...
a. they help only those who help themselves
b. any such institute is only as good as its materials and your fellow students enrolled in it
First one is pretty straight forward.. you gotta be really 'serious' about CAT and only then can they help you.
Second is a li'l tricky.. Especially for the IIMs, it is very important that you have a lot of practise in solving the typical problems. The key is your developing the speed and ability to be in control. Another part to it is the GD/PI and that very much depends on the people with whom you practise discussions.
All said and done, most of the people prepare for CAT because it is cool or because they get to socialize in the right circles.
So, it all depends on why you or any one would want to give CAT.
