Tragic

A picnic by the Choral River near Indore turned tragic when two students of IIM-Indore drowned after they went for a swim on Saturday (August 4, 2007) afternoon.

Really unfortunate an end to two young lives.. I can only pray that their near ones have the courage to get through this.

Since there are many media versions of the unfortunate incident that
took place on Saturday going around , we thought you should know what
happened.

Two participants of PGP 2, Nitesh Agarwal and Neha Singh, lost their
lives at Choral River picnic spot. While sitting near the river, they
were caught in a sudden flooding which came with such speed and force
that onlookers were unable to fish them out.

Search and rescue operations began at about 6PM, and went on till late
in the night. Their bodies were recovered only the next day, and the
media were behind the rescue teams all the while long. The grieving
families were comforted by friends of Nitesh and Neha, and later by
the director and the PGP chair.

The participants deeply mourn the passing of Nitesh and Neha, and had
organized a condolence meeting to honor their memory on the 6th of
august, a day after the awry incident occurred.
